Bantwal, Mar 18: Residents of Kajipitlu, Amtadi village are facing drinking water issues. There are no drinking water pipe connections by the gram panchayat here and people are suffering in the summer heat.

The Har Ghar Jal project of the union government is implemented here too. The gram panchayat has announced water pipe connections to every house. But the cries for water are not reduced. The failure of the pipe connections to this area is the cause.

People depended for the last several years on the water from a house at Thadyal. But the water has dried up in the well due scorching heat this year. Therefore, village people are devastated.

Amtadi was declared as Har Ghar Jal village on December 29. But there was no survey to find out where exactly water comes, alleged the villagers. They said that the panchayat officers did not respond to their pleas for water. The gram panchayat and taluk administration needs to solve their problems.
