Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School celebrates Women’s Day

Mangaluru, Mar 13: International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 10 at St Agnes CBSE School. This year the theme was DigitAll: innovation and technology for gender equality.

The chief guest was Dr Devi Prabha Alva, associate professor, department of commerce at St Agnes College (autonomous), a woman of inspiration, a great speaker and motivator accompanied by Sr Edna Furtado AC, the administrator, Sr Maria Gracilda AC, the principal , and Sr Lenita Lobo, the vice principal graced the programme by their presence.

The programme began with a meaningful prayer service followed by a beautiful welcome danceand a formal welcome. Students of class 3 highlighted the importance of women with their beautiful performance. The significance of the day was depicted through a video which showed the history and the theme of this year. Students of class 7 enhanced the programme with a dance drama which visualizedpower of women.

On this day the students who participated in the Science Exhibition ‘Avishkar’ inter school science expo were honored.

The chief guest empowered the students with her motivationalwords. She spoke about the keywords such as WATCH (Words Action Thoughts Character and Honesty) MAD (Make A Difference). The chief guest expressed her words of appreciation for organizing a beautiful programme. The school principal also congratulated students and teachers who worked behind the celebration and shared her thoughts about women empowerment.

The programme was compered by Alisha Fathima and Ishanvi, the gathering was welcomed by Fathima and Nidhi proposed the vote of thanks expressing gratitude for making this event a success.

The management congratulated the principal and staff for recognizing the important day and thanked every women for their selfless service.
