Moodbidri: Parish Day, PPP golden jubilee celebrations held at Alangar

Moodbidri, Feb 6: Parish Day and PPP golden jubilee celebrations was celebrated in a grand scale on February 5. Fr Rakesh Mathias CSS, rector of Nityadar Nivas, Alangar presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration.

Soon after the Mass, around 200 people participated in preparing the meal for the evening.

In the evening, a stage programe was organized in which vice presidents, secretaries, ward gurkars, heads of the religious houses and parish priests were felicitated.

Fr Maxim D'Souza, Fr Joswin D'Souza and Fr Milton Jacob all three from seminary were the chief guests.

Soon after the felicitation programe, 8 Bible tableaus were presented by 8 wards depicting the birth of Jesus, Last Supper, wedding at cana, death and resurrection of Jesus, life and death of John the Baptist, sermon on the mount, parable of the ten virgins and cleansing of the temple. Four wards were awarded first prize and 4 wards were awarded second prize. Fr Maxim D'Souza, Fr Joswin D'Souza and Fr Milton Jacob selected the places and gave a short evaluation on the same.

All appreciated the efforts of wards for presenting beautiful tableaus.

After the tableau presentation, Bible housie was conducted by Fr Maxim D'Souza. Around 700 people participated in the same. 

The programme concluded by awarding prizes to the winners and delicious meal prepared by the parish community and friendly baila dance.

The whole programe was organized by small christian community parish community and commission. Asha D'Souza, convener of SCC welcomed, Anil D'Cunha read the parish activity report, vice president Edward Serrao proposed the vote of thanks, and Eric Lobo compered the event.
