Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates 74th Republic Day

Mangaluru, Jan 29: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day with great pride and reverence on January 26.

The chief guest commandant Gulwinder Singh, officer-in-charge, Indian Coast Guard Academy Project, Mangaluru unfurled the National Flag and addressed the students. He urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indians and accept the opportunities to serve the motherland.

Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, in his speech, highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its unique features such as sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic and republic enshrined in the preamble.

The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of Republic Day through a cultural programme which included dance, skit, patriotic song and a video presentation about Republic Day.

Ancika Sheryl Pinto from class VIIC highlighted significance of the day. Shruthi Kishore delivered the welcome address. Gehena Mangaladevi from class VIIIC proposed a vote of thanks. Bhavin B from class IXA compered the programme.
