Man marries daughter-in-law in UP's Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Jan 27 (IANS): In a shocking incident, a 70-year-old man has married his 28-year-old daughter-in-law in Chhapia Umaro village, here.

Photographs of the 'couple' are now going viral on the social media.

Kailash Yadav, who works as a chowkidar at the Barhalganj police station, lost his wife 12 years ago and his third son also died sometime later.

Kailash got his widowed daughter-in-law, Pooja, married again but the wedlock did not last, after which she returned home and started living in her husband's home.

Kailash, without informing anyone in the neighbourhood or the village, quietly married Pooja and it was only after the photograph went viral that people came to know about it.

Inspector J N Shukla of Barhalganj police station said that he had seen the photograph on the social media and would now inquire about the marriage.

Why is this incident shocking? It is NOT an incestuous marriage. FIL and DIL are not blood relatives. FIL did a meritorious act by marrying and giving protection to DIL who will probably have children but not from her FIL's son her former deceased husband but from FIL. Children, if there be any, will call their father grandpa. Jossey, please note and do not vent your disgust at every chance you get at UP.

It looks strange and their age difference is vast.If they both are happy and no objection why should we say anything.?For sometime people will talk but later noone notices.Quite possible because of husbands age ,she might become widow again for the second time?Hope both live happily and long time together. Our congratulations to them both.

Kujma, do not make fun, understand the situation too. He got his DIL married for the second time which did not work out. Living like a widow is not easy in Indian society. If it was lust he would not have stayed a widower for 12 years nor got her married to somebody else after his son died.

There is no point in getting married his DIL just to save from other men. He could have been like a Father instead of being as a Husband...
