Media Passing through Credibility Crisis: Dhumal


Shimla, May 29 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today blamed paid news for a "crisis of credibility" in the media, saying "independent and small newspapers could play a more effective role."

"Media is losing its credibility due to paid news. In the present scenario, independent and small newspapers could play a more effective role in the dissemination of news and views," the chief minister said while presiding over a function here.

The chief minister said journalism, both print and electronic was becoming more challenging in the prevailing environment and media persons were required to discharge their responsibilities towards the society with commitment and dedication.
