Bantwal, Dec 8: Former minister Ramanath Rai has alleged that names of eligible voters are being deleted from the voters' list.

He was speaking after visiting Bantwal tahsildar Dr Smita Ramu and submitting an appeal to the assistant commissioner in this connection.

“I am confident that local booth BLOs will work sincerely. But I have come to know that BJP workers and leaders are persuading BLOs to delete the names. The BLOs should be directed not to bow to pressure,” he said.

President of the municipal council Mohammed Sharif, Chandraprakash Shetty Tumbe, Sudeep Shetty Mani, Pius L Rodrigues, Padmanabha Rai, Abbas Ali, Venkappa Poojary and others were present.
