Beltangady: Ambulance overturns on bridge, doctor seriously injured

Beltangady, Dec 6: Ambulance belonging to a private hospital at Kakkinje overturned on a bridge across Somavati river of the taluk as the driver lost control of the vehicle on Sunday night.

Out of the three people in the ambulance, Dr Nitin received serious injury to his elbow joint and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for higher medical treatment.

Driver Huzair and staff Ritesh escaped with minor injuries. They were given first aid in Beltangady government hospital. The accident occurred when the trio were returning to Kakkinje after collecting parcels related to medicine at Beltangady town. The Bolero vehicle was completely damaged in the mishap.

Traffic got disrupted for more than half an hour due to the mishap. Traffic police got the road cleared with the help of the public.
