Bengaluru, Dec 3: JD(S) legislature party leader in the assembly and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday predicted that JD(S) candidate Sudhakar Lal will win against the former Congress Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar in the Koratagere assembly constituency in Tumkuru district.

Speaking at Gondihalli in Koratagere on Saturday, Kumaraswamy said Dr Parameshwar will not be allowed to become Chief Minister as he did not get the opportunity when he was the KPCC President.

The JD(S) man Sudhakar Lal is a very decent person and has earned the goodwill of the people, the JD(S) leader said and made it clear that it was Congress leaders who were responsible for Dr Parameshwar’s defeat in the 2013 assembly polls. Kumaraswamy complimented the Maharashtra government headed by Eknath Shinde for its pro-active steps in solving the drinking water problem of people in Shath village in the neighbouring State, which has a large concentration of Kannadigas.

The JD(S) leader blamed the Basavaraj Bommai government and State BJP leaders for needlessly raising the border issue ahead of the assembly polls to provoke emotions and said the State Government must solve the drinking water problems in several villages of Karnataka.

The former chief minister condemned the State Health and Family Welfare Department for its laxity resulting in the death of a young boy at Kodigenahalli in Madhugiri due to non-availability of treatment.

The State Government must send out a stern message to all District Health Officers and warn that they will be held responsible and suspended if any deaths occur in any district due to lack of treatment, he said.

Kumaraswamy has condoled the death of senior party leader of Channapatrna C L Nagaraju, who was a long-time associate of JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
