Mangaluru: Annual feast begins at St Joseph Vaz Shrine

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The first day of annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine was celebrated with great devotion on December 2. Fr Cyprian Pinto vicar forane, St Joseph Vaz south vicariate, Fr Assisi Rebello, the parish priest and Shrine rector, Fr Ronald Pinto, the asst parish priest Mudipu Church, Parish Pastoral Council vice president Naveen Dsouza and the secretary Dr Irene Veigas along shrine committee and PPC members extended a solemn welcome to bishop to the shrine.

The bishop concelebrated the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Cyprian Pinto, vicar forane, Fr Assisi Rebello Shrine rector, Fr Ronald Pinto asst parish priest, Fr Alwyn Dcunha parish priest Omzoor along with Deacon Avinash Pais celebrated the solemn Eucharist. Many devotees took part in the festal celebration and festal meal provided for all devotees.

Fr Assisi Rebello, the parish priest thanked the devotees. Bishop honoured the donors with candles and blessed them for their generosity. Fr Vijay Machado, the director of Mangala Jyothi, compered the liturgical celebration.

Ex minister Ramanatha Rai Bantwal Constituency visited the shrine and conveyed his wishes for the feast. Agnes D’Souza president of Ira Grama Panchayath, Arun Dsouza were present.
