Bengaluru, Nov 30: KPCC president D K Shivakumar on Wednesday called on Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Sri Nirmalananda Swamiji on the proposed agitation to press for increasing the reservation quota for Vokkaligas from the present 4 % to 12% in accordance with the community’s population.
The increase in reservation benefits to the Vokkaliga community in accordance with its population has become inevitable and a historical necessity as the meagre reservation quota will not suffice, Shivakumar said.
The Congress leader held discussions with the seer on the strategies to be adopted for carrying forward the agitation.
