Mangaluru: 'Padua Sambram' fundraising event held

Mangaluru, Nov 30: The Padua Educational Institutions had organized Padua Sambram, an event to raise funds for scholarships, mid day meals and developmental projects.

The inauguration was held on November 25 at 2.30 pm in the Padua campus. This occasion was graced by the presence of Fr Vincent Monteiro, correspondent, as the president of the programme, The chief guest was Swaraj Shetty, Tulu and Kannada actor, the guests of honour was Swathi Shetty, Tulu actress, Stephen Pinto, Mavis Rodrigues and the heads of the different institutions.

The degree principal Fr Arun Wilson Lobo welcomed the gathering and PUC principal Gladys Aloysius proposed a vote of thanks. The program was compered by degree vice principal Prof Roshan Santhumayor. There were a variety of games and food stalls.

Competitions like solo dance, fancy dress, fashion show were conducted for the students. The special attractions of the program were Short film Ankanakara shows, Padua Dance League dance competition, love birds' draw, rooster draw, auctions of donated items, Padua Tiger Dance, musical and dance performances, housie-housie, spot games, performance by Remona Pereira and Chithrali.

The programme concluded on November 26.
