Mangaluru: Regional congress of ACAs, Carmel Blossoms held

Mangaluru, Nov 28: The Regional congress of ACAs and Carmel Blossoms of Karnataka Province was held on November 26 and 27 at St Ann’s BEd College and Carmel School, Mangaluru with the theme ‘In the footsteps of Mother Veronica’. 150 ACAs and animators, 80 Carmel Blossoms and animators were present for the same. Sr M Shamita AC the provincial superior and Sr Dr Ancilla AC the general councillor and coordinator for ACAs and CBs inaugurated the Congress and gave the inaugural address. Sr Ancilla took up separate sessions for the animators of both the groups separately giving the essence of Lay Apostolate and the need to imbibe the Vision, Charism and the Mission of the Foundress.

It was also a significant and memorable event as both groups celebrated the Bi Centennial of the Birth of Ven Mother Veronica and the Silver Jubilee of the associations. In honour of the bi-centenary all the Catholic toppers of various schools and PU Colleges of the Carmels were invited and offered a scholarship.

Various sessions were held by Srs Lathika, Julie Ann, Rose Agnes. 9 of the ACA members also made their Permanent Affiliation during the Eucharist. Fr Leo Lasrado, rector, Minor seminary and Fr Praveen, principal, St Aloysius College gave a inspiring homilies for the ACAs and Carmel Blossoms.

The two days have been days of learning, imbibing the spirituality of the foundress and also the bonding- All of them were enriched and extremely happy of the two memorable days. Province coordinators of ACAs and Carmel Blossoms sisters Rose Agnes and Sudeepa organized the events.
