Panaji: Global Goans Convention at London from July 22

Panaji, May 18: Gomant Vishwa Sammelan also known as Global Goans Convention will begin in London from July 22 onwards, Goa’s NRI Commissioner Eduardo Faleiro said today.
 
The four day long convention will have High commissioner in the UK, Member of Parliaments of Goan origin in UK and leaders of Goan associations from across the world participating in it.
 
Faleiro said that the convention will be organised by the Goan Association, UK.
 
“The convention will host several meetings of interest to our NRGs. There will be an interactive session with the involvement of the High Commissioner of India and senior officials of the Union government,” Faleiro said.
 
“The issues concerning Non Resident Indians and Persons of India Origin (PIOs) will be discussed during the four day long event,” he added.
 
Faleiro said that the `global goans convention provides the largest platform for Non Resident Goans to engage, interact and build mutually beneficial networks.’
 
Goa NRI commissionerate has held similar conventions at Portugal, Canada, Oman and Kuwait.
