Chicago: Dr Austin Prabhu Receives 10 Diamond MJF Award

Chicago, May 17: Lions of Illinois held their Multiple District 1 Convention at the Hilton Garden Inn in Effingham about 250 miles from here.

Past International president Judge Biran Stevenson from Calgary, Alberta, Canada was the International Guest for weekend. Lions, Lionesses and Leos from 12 Districts from MD1 attended the gala event that began on Friday May 13 and ended on Sunday May 15th with Lions of Illinois Foundation breakfast. On Saturday during Lions of Illinois Banquet five districts awarded their outstanding lions with International President's awards. Past District Governor (2004-05) and current First Vice District Governor Elect Dr Austin Prabhu received 10 Diamond Melvin Jones Fellowship from Past International President Judge Brian Stevenson. 

Council Chairman Rick McHale praised Dr Austin for his dedication and hard work in promoting lionism in the US.  There was a standing ovation for the gathering for Dr. Prabhu's achievement. 

He is the first lion to receive 10 Diamond Melvin Jones Progressive Fellowship in the State of Illinois.
