Maoists Set Ablaze 29 Vehicles, Injure Two Cops


Ranchi, May 15 (IANS) Over 150 Maoists set afire 29 vehicles, including trucks, of a private road construction company in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district and later engaged in a gun battle with security forces, injuring two policemen, police said Sunday.

The rebels attacked the base camp of a company and set afire its vehicles -- trucks, dumpers and roller machines, at around 12.30 a.m. Sunday in Morangi village, around 110 km from here. The company was involved in road construction work.

The injured policemen have been referred to Ranchi for treatment.
