Panaji, May 13: A German drug peddler arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Goa earlier this month has claimed that he has worked in Rohan Sippy’s flick Dum Maro Dum (DMD) as an extra.

Ralp Diersmanm, a German tourist, was arrested on May 3 as a part of a chain peddling drugs on Goa’s coastline. He was picked up from Anjuna flea market, a place alongside the beach famous amongst the foreign tourists.

NCB officials said that Diersmanm was the part of an inter-state narcotic gang. His partner was arrested in neighbouring Sawantwadi town in Maharashtra, 100 kms away from Panaji.

During the interrogation, Diersmanm told the sleuths that he worked as an extra in DMD, a flick that incidentally exposes the drug-ravaged coastlines of Goa.

Diersmanm claims to be shot for two scenes, one which is near a Church cemetery.

NCB was led to Diersmanm after their raid at Sawantwadi in which one Krishna Singh was arrested with 3.5 kg hashish. During the initial interrogation, Singh spilled beans on Diersmanm, who was waiting for him in Goa’s flea market.

Both are arrested under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The story of DMD, a movie starring Abhishekh Bachchan and Bipasha Basu, revolves around the policemen-drug peddler nexus in the state, which has several lakh visitors flocking here every year.

Director General of Police Bhimsen Bassi, who was transferred from Goa this week, had said that portrayal about drug availability in Goa is merely an imagination. “The movies are ought to be taken seriously.  It’s a three hour entertainment,” he had said.
