Karunanidhi Resigns as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister


Chennai, May 13 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Friday resigned from the post after his DMK-led alliance was routed in the assembly polls.

Karunanidhi submitted his resignation to Governor Surjit Singh Barnala and, according to an official statement, the outgoing chief minister has been asked to continue with the present council of ministers till alternate arrangements are made.
