Niveus Mangalore Marathon: Traffic restrictions on Nov 6

Mangaluru, Nov 4: On November 6, Mangaluru runners will hold the Niveus Mangalore Marathon, the first edition of the Mangaluru Marathon. The event will see 2,500 participants participating in the Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10 KM, 5 KM, and 2 KM Gammath run.

There will be traffic restrictions between Mangala Stadium to Kottara Chowki from 5 am to 8:30 am and between Mangala Stadium to Tannirbhavi beach Ferry point from 5:00 am to 7:30 am. The event's organizers are requesting the public's cooperation and support to ensure a successful event.

Mangalore Runners Club, is a not-for-profit organization formed by a diverse group of runners of all ages and abilities from various walks of life. The Mangalore Marathon's mission is to create a long-term community-focused running event that encourages people of all levels to live a healthy life and improve their personal fitness by running. The aim is to place Mangaluru on the world marathon map by organizing the Mangalore Marathon year on year in a professional way. This would help to popularize Mangaluru around the world and attract tourists to our lovely city. Along with promoting fitness, the event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Mangalore based Chetana Child Development Centre, which works to improve lives of children with disabilities. MRC has partnered with TIPS sessions, a Karnataka based NGO to make this event litter free and a Zero Waste Event.
