Iranian MP for Close Ties with Pakistani Intelligence

Tehran, May 8 (IANS) An Iranian lawmaker has called for close cooperation between the security and intelligence agencies of Iran and Pakistan.

According to Kazem Jalali, spokesman for parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, this would help provide security and stability to the region.

He also proposed cooperation among Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan to fight terrorism so as to cut US influence in the region, state-run Press TV reported.

The US justifies its military presence in the region by using terror as a pretext, he was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
