Mangaluru: Final profession ceremony held at Cloistered Carmel Convent Chapel

Mangaluru, Oct 1: Sr Therese Marie of the Divine Mercy, finally professed on Saturday, October 1.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore presided over the ceremony and the holy Eucharist. The solemn final profession tool place at Cloistered Carmel Convent Chapel, in Kankandy in the presence of priests, religious and lay faithful with a meaningful celebration.

Sr Therese Marie is a native of Saripalla which belongs to Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar. Her profession brought joy and rejoicing in the Carmelite Order and to the diocese of Mangalore.

In his homily, Fr George Santhumayor OCD, the provincial superior of Karnataka-Goa province invited all to detach from the worldly allurements and attach to godly things. He also said about the work of prayer as elevating man from earth to God.

The bishop thanked their parents for offering her to Cloistered Carmel convent. Deacon Robin Joyson Santhumayer animated the solemn profession ceremony. At the end of the Eucharistic Mass, Fr Alphonse Fernandes S J thanked the gathering.
