Mangaluru: ICYM signs MoU with St Aloysius College (Autonomous)

Mangaluru, Oct 1: Indian catholic youth movement (ICYM) of the diocese of Mangalore signed a memorandum of understanding with St Aloysius College (Autonomous) on September 30. Red drop is a unique initiative of ICYM Mangalore diocese, through which many lives have been saved by donating blood during emergencies. St Aloysius College has been an active partner in the past year, more than 300 student donors donated blood through the Red drop initiative.

Dr Praveen Martis SJ, principal St Aloysius College appreciated and congratulated the youth for taking the initiative of Red Drop through which college could build a good network and bond with the diocesan youth organisation. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza director- ICYM Mangalore diocese said that one should not restrict oneself only to share our blood, but also share thoughts, ideas and experiences for the better growth of society.

Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza – former president of students’ council and present ICYM president of Moodbidri unit was honoured during the programme for initiating the concept in St Aloysius College.

Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Dr Praveen Martis, Anil John Sequeira president - ICYM, Brendon Cutinha ICYM Red Drop Rep, Philomena Fernandes ICYM PRO, Dr Alwyn D’Sa controller of examination, Dr Ronald Nazareth dean, International Collaboration, Jennifer Ida Mascarenhas dean – extension services, Reji John Youth Red Cross officer, Vijoy Ashwin former president – students council, Letitia D’Costa president – students council were present for the programme. Viola Reshma Lewis – Karnataka Regional representative compered the programme.
