Ponda: All India FIDE Rating Chess Tourney Inaugurated in Goa


Ponda (Goa), Apr 26 (PTI) Goa Minister of Transport and Social Welfare Sudin Dhavlikar today inaugurated the Centennial All India FIDE (International) Rating Chess Tournament 2011 here.

The tournament has attracted 187 entries from various parts of the country including four International Masters -- Arghyadip Das (2478), Saptarshi Roy (2395), K Ratnakaran (2394) and Himanshu Sharma (2393) and Fide Master J Ramakrishna.

A total of 86 FIDE rated players will participate in the tournament.

International arbiter Dharmendra Kumar will officiate as the chief arbiter of the tournament.
