Udupi, Sep 22: A huge protest was staged at Atradi market area by Kaup block Congress north under the leadership of Vinay Kumar Sorake urging administration to repair the national highway road from Parkala to Guddeangadi which has become untreadable for pedestrians and motorists.

Road block was held on national highway at Atradi by the Congress workers as part of the protest.

Addressing the protestors, Sorake said, “Where are the MLA and MP, who need to get alerted on the pathetic state of the national highway that falls under the Lok Sabha limits. We thought of filing appeal in Hiriyadka police station of helping us to find them.

“The Lok Sabha MP of this constituency, who calls over phone from Delhi and inquires about the caste and religion if a murder takes place here and starts playing political chess, is not to be seen or heard when people are facing issues. The road should be repaired at the earliest. If the same is not done, Congress will gherao the offices of MP and MLA in coming days.

“Middle class people are becoming financially poor. GST is implemented on all products. 70% inflation and unemployment is squeezing the citizens. Plot is being hatched to take away the democracy and constitution of this country. Industrialist Adani, who should have been in prison for insolvency, is in the second spot among the richest in the world today. Everyone knows with whom the BJP government is,” he said.

Charan Vittal Kudi, president of Kaup Block Congress campaign committee, Santhosh Shetty, Ganeshraj Saralebettu, Gurudas Bhandary, Sudhir, Laxmi Narayan Prabhu, Shashidhar Jattanna, Kiran Kukkehalli and party workers were present.
