Media Release

London, Sep 17: "On September 11, South Kanara Association (SKA) London celebrated the Feast of Nativity of our Mother Mary, a rich cultural heritage of our Mangalurean community.

A large number of people participated in this grand celebration with great spirituality and devotion. Starting with a procession to adore Our Lady, along with enthusiastic flower offering from little children and blessing the corn as a symbol of new harvest by Fr Roshan Dsouza and Fr Rayan Pinto.

Followed by the Holy Eucharistic Mass with an inspirational sermon by Fr Roshan D’Souza and Melodious hymns sung by our very own choir group led by Alwyn Saldhana, making the Mass a huge celebration.

After the Mass, various delicious Mangalurean dishes of vegetarian lunch and idli and traditional vorn were served. Thereafter, mind-blowing cultural programme by SKA members.

They had various amazing talents presented on this day which will be available on YouTube and Facebook soon. Prizes were distributed for the winners of sports events.

The day ended with Baila dance to the beautiful tunes of Chico. All the sponsors, volunteers, the members who have prepared the delicious meals and everyone attending the celebration were thanked.
