Riyadh: Aangan Konkneche Celebrates Nativity Feast

Riyadh, Sep 10: Aangan Konkneche here celebrated the Feast of Nativity - Monthi Fest on Wednesday September 8.

The new corn (novem) was brought from Mangalore and delicious home made vegetarian meal consisting of allum-dhento, thoushya karamb, sango, podwalen, karathe, thendlim, ghosalim, sonno,  sanna and vorn was served to all in banana leaves. This dinner was prepared by the Mangalorean community residing here.


Arun D’Souza Palimar welcomed the gathering and compered the entire programme.   Ambrose D’Mello Pangla led the prayer service through the hymn ‘Sokkod Sangatha Mellyam’ and ‘Moryek Hogollsiyam’. He also spoke few words about the traditional Noven Jevan.

Later Housie Housie game was conducted by Henry Gonzales. Entertainment programmes were also organized on the occasion. Michelle Mascarenhas Urva sang a devotional song ‘Morye Muja Mogal Maye’ from the album of Lancy Moras. Valerian, Roshen Lobo, Manoj Rekha, Marvin Nimie, Shwetha, Condred , Eline Henry among others participated in the entertainment programmes.

    "Baale ele oota" an added attraction to your party, imported leaves from South India.Waw! Being a muslim i really happy to see our friends are enjoying their feast in Riyadh. Most of the above organizers are my friends, who are really very nice people.

    Dear friends of Aangan Konknechenm,
    I am very happy to see the pictures of the celebration being held to Honour our Heavenly Mother on her Birthday. I renewed my old memories where I also was celebrating the Feast with you all. Thanks to arun D'souza(Arun Baab) and other organisers for continuing the spirit of Konkni mai and may our Mother Mary send more and more heavenly Blessings on us all.We Canara Konkan association,Borivali,celebrated the Feast on 12th,sept from 5,Sunday,
    17:45 onwards, Konshi Benjar,Konkani Maas(Fr.Charles Vaaz) followed by some entertainment and Novenm jevaan.
