Udupi: Kodavoor temple car festival, Rashi poojas to be held from Jan 25 to Feb 5

Udupi, Jan 22: Several Hindu rituals including temple car festival and Rashi poojas are scheduled in the guidance of Vedamurthi Puttur Hayavadana Tantri at Mahatobara Kodavoor Shankernarayana temple here from January 25 till February 5.

The annual festival week celebrations will begin on January 25. There will be community prayers to the deity and Ugrana Muhoortha at 4.30 pm that day.

Ganayaga and Sanjeevini Mrathyunjaya Yaga will be at 8 am on January 26.

Vishnuyaga and Shanti Homa will be at 8.00 am and Ankura Bali and Ankurahona at 7.30 pm on January 27.

Kalashabhisheka at 6.36 am, flag hoisting at 8.45 am and procession of flowers and fruits at 4.30 pm followed by Maharanga Pooje at 10 pm on January 28.

Navaka Pradhana Homa, Kalashabhisheka at 9 am and Kattepooje at 6.30 pm on January 29.

Ratharohana at 11 am, Annasantarpane at 12.10 pm, Maharathotsava, dances by Pilar Sridhar Udupa at 8 pm on January 30.

Kavata inauguration, Tulabhara seve at 7 am, Katte pooje at 3 pm, Theppotsava and Avabhratha at 6 pm in the temple lake on January 31.

Ganayaga, Samprokshane, Varamahalaxmi Pooje and Mahamantrakshathe at 8 am on February 1.

Golikatte Nagabana, Dakke Bali from 7 pm on February 2

Devata Prarthane, Navaka Pradhana Homa at 8.30 am. Rashi Pooja Mandala will be formed and Ranga Pooje at 5 pm on February 3

Rashi Pooja Kalashadhivasa, Adivasa Yaga at 4.00 am, Sankalpa, Bharathi Pooje at 5.30 am and Rashi pooje will begin at 6.56 am. Mahapooje will be at 12 pm on February 4..

Udyapana Bali, Prasanna Pooje, distribution of prasada at 6 am on February 5.

Hore Kanike and Maha Anna Santarpane will be held at 4.00 pm on February 1. Maha Santarpane will be on February 4 at 12.15 pm.

Vedamurthi Puttur Hayavadana Tantri will bless on January 30. Temple management committee president Kodavoor Prakash G will preside. Gandhi hospital managing directors Dr Harischandra, entrepreneur Manjunath Bhat will be the chief guests. Kantappa Karkera, P Rathna Bayari, Srisha Ballal, Rathnaker Acharya, Vishwanath Bhat of persene boat owner’s association will be felicitated.

There will be cultural programmes on January 30 and January 31. There will be music from Rohit Malpe and party at 12.15 pm on February 4. Hattiangadi Kripa Poshita team will perform yakshagana at 7.30 pm that day, states temple managing committee president Prakash G Kodavoor and Rashi Pooja Mahotsava Seva Samithi president Sadhu Salian in a press release.
