Mangaluru: Virtual conference on Aviation, Hospitality, Tourism industry held at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Dec 19: College of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University on Wednesday 16 organised a one-day national conference through virtual platform on 'Recovery Strategies of Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism Industry: Post Covid 19'.

M R Vasudeva, former director of Mangalore International Airport and chairperson of College of Aviation Studies was the inaugurator and keynote speaker of the conference who spoke on the recent trends taking place in the aviation industry in post-covid-19 time in terms of employment opportunities, privatisation and development taking place in the cargo sector in the aviation industry in India.



Arun Mahadevan, senior manager (HR) of AAI Mangalore International Airport, Captain Rajesh Narayan, airline pilot and deputy chief pilot and designate examiner of DGCA. Vanitha Lambo, airport advisor of Delhi airport were the resource persons of the conference who spoke about changes that happened in employment after covid-19'- changes in HR policies, reduction of cost and optimum utilisation of human resources and also retaining the skilled employees.

Dr P S Aithal, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University presided over the programme.

The conference mainly intended for faculty members, students and research scholars in the aviation industry, management, commerce, Computer Science, social work, sociology, Economics and Social Sciences. The executives, consultants, policymakers and other professionals are also invited to participate and present their views/research findings on the theme.

The abstract proceeding of the conference was released at the conference. The research scholars, students and academics presented the papers at the conference. More than 30 research papers were received and presented at the conference. All the papers presented will be published after review in international journals along with ISBN proceedings.

Professor Pavithra Kumari, dean of College of Aviation welcomed the gathering, Professor Vishal briefed about the conference and Professor Kavyashree the coordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
