Mangaluru: St Francis Xavier Church celebrates Christmas Koota on subtle note

Mangaluru, Dec 18: St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai celebrated Christmas Koota here at the Bejai Church hall on Friday, December 18.

Parish priest of Bejai Church Fr J B Saldanha along with other dignitaries inaugurated the Christmas Koota.

Speaking on the occasion Fr J B Saldanha said, "We had planned to celebrate Christmas Koota in a grand manner but the coronavirus pandemic has put a brake on it. In this program, corporators were invited because of their service to society, let God bless them. I urge everyone to follow all the required protocols laid down by the government to combat coronavirus and hope that everyone stays safe."



District governor Lions Club International Dr Geetha Prakash distributed walkers to three beneficiaries.

The welcome dance was performed by convent sisters. The senior citizens performed a skit and the tableau was presented by Lourdes Central School.

Vice president Parish Pastoral Council, Bejai Church Ashok Pinto welcomed the gathering, secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Bejai Church Preethi Gomes proposed the vote of thanks and Robin Cutinho compered the event.

Corporator Shakeela Kava, Sudheer Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde, Manohar Shetty, corporator Lancelot Pinto, Jayanth Anchan, Lourdes Central School principal Fr Robert, Fr Pramod Crasta, Fr Vishwas Joy Misquith and others were present.
