Dubai/Sharjah: Konkan Yuva's 'Khel-Mhel 2.0' brings thrilling experience to participants

Dubai/Sharjah, Nov 30: Konkan Yuva, Dubai organized a unique concept for Khel Mel 2.0 Challenge Hunt providing a fun-filled event that added another feather to Konkan Yuva cap. A competitive treasure hunt game, which tests the physical and mental strength of the participants was held on November 27. The beautiful weather undoubtedly encouraged the participants to get into the fun mode and enjoy the week off in a very sporty manner. 

Over 32 teams of bounty hunters took part in the event, Lilcy Challengers, The Three Musketeers, Tornadoes, Desert Dudes, Matthikatte Gems, Win or Booze, VLF, VoiloWado, Cool Boys, Flippers, The Chinipoklis, Bondel Eagles, Lilcy Challengers-2, All is Well, SekeloWado, Matthikatte Stars, Kudla Warriors, Infinity Dubai, Samari Warriors, Alemari, The Wolf Pack, One For All, V3 Amigos, White Wings, Derebail Titans, Falcons, Allu KFC, Tri Star, Girgit, Coastal Friends, The hunters participated in the event that began in eight locations at 7.00 am on November 27. 

A well-planned hunt was managed through WhatsApp by sharing clues and ideas of the location, keeping in mind the pandemic situation, the social distancing rule was adhered by all. The task began with a riddle to test the participant’s knowledge on the history of the UAE and the team who guessed the correct answer was awarded details of the following tasks.

Physical fitness challenge - Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club

- Cooking challenge (Churumri) - Coastal Delicacies Restaurant

- Daring challenge- Birds and Animals market

- Work challenge (changing Tyre)- Al Sada Auto Spare Parts Garage

- Scavenger hunt- Al Noor Park

- Puzzle challenge (Arranging Keys of Computer)- AKD Switchgear

- Selfie challenge 

- Public Transport challenge- A time-based challenge, which involved the use of various modes of travel in Dubai

Under the guidance and support of the spiritual director of Konkan Yuva, Fr Denis Saldanha, Konkan Yuva managed to bring the Konkani community under one roof. The valedictory function for the event was held at 2:30 pm and the chief guests for the event were James Mendonca, proprietor of Reliable Fabrications and Middle East factory LLC and Joseph Mathias, proprietor of Merit Freight shipping, Konkan Yuva president Vivian Fernandes welcomed the gathering, James Mendonca and Joseph Mathias shared their experience in regards to the event and wished Konkan Yuva to look forward to many such events and also assured their support for the future events.

On the occasion of the 15th year anniversary, all the former presidents of Konkan Yuva, Ullas Fernandes, Mamtha D'Souza, Godwin Castelino, Joel Saldanha, Stephen Nazareth, Blasius D'Souza, Lee Almeida and Josna Martis were felicitated and Delton Miranda thanked them for their dedicated service. Veena Pais thanked all the sponsors for their generosity and inspiration.

Lavita D'Souza thanked the referees: Blasius D'Souza, Deepak Machado, Prem Oscar Pais, Arun D'Almeida and Noel D'Alemida for the event.

Konkan Yuva Cultural secretary, Denzil Moras thanked everyone for making this event a great success.

The most awaited moment was the results of the games:

Overall champions- VoiloWado

First runner up- The Chimipokhs

Second runner up- Sekelowado

Travel hunt winner (Public Transport)- The Three Musketeers

Konkan Yuva received an overwhelming response for organizing such a wonderful event from all those who took part in the event. MC Vinette Lobo hosted the event.

The brains behind the event are Vivian Fernandes, Denzil Moras, Viyon Veigas and Vernon D’Souza who managed to bring their ideas into reality.

The team Konkan Yuva Khel Mhel 2.0 created yet again new and exciting memories for people that they will cherish over the years to come.
