Bengaluru: CM at National Unity Day garlands Sardar Patel; Valmiki Jayanti

Bengaluru, Oct 31: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa marked the celebration of National Unity Day in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.

Administering the oath of National Unity, the chief minister garlanded the picture of Sardar Patel in Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Saturday.

He later participated in the Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and garlanded the statue of Maharshi Valmiki.

Social welfare minister, B Sriramulu was present during the occasion.



The chief minister, who had campaigned for the BJP candidate, Dr Rajesh Gowda in Sira assembly constituency in Tumakuru district on Friday, campaigned for the BJP candidate Munirathna in Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency in the city.

The election campaign for both the assembly constituency by-elections ends on Saturday. The by-polls will be held on November 3.
