Mangaluru: Mental Health Awareness Week observed at St Aloysius PU College

Mangaluru, Oct 20: World Mental Health Day commemorated on October 10 for mental health education, awareness and advocacy against the social stigma that is often attached to it.

St Aloysius Pre-University observed the Mental Health Awareness Week from October 10 to 16 by focusing on the theme ‘Positive Emotions’.

Various studies have indicated that positive emotions can make us joyful and build our skills for being happier and healthier. Thus, when we focus our attention on them, they can be expanded and reinforced.



One positive emotion was focused on each of the seven days. The positive emotions focused on were – Joy, Gratitude, Serenity, Hope, Inspiration, Love and Contentment (Satisfaction).

On each day, awareness related to a positive emotion was shared in each class. Posters and materials were circulated and displayed.
