Udupi, Sep 27: "Do not trouble farmers and labourers. JD(S) fully supports the Karnataka Bandh that is called on Monday November 28," said Yogish Shetty, district president of JD(S), in a press conference that was called in the party office here on Sunday September 27.

Yogish further said, "In some hospitals the facility of ICU has increased but still there is shortage of beds. Private hospitals are looting the poor. This means that they are not under the control of the ruling government. General public is scared to go to the hospitals. If the relatives ask about their kith and kin admitted into the hospital, they do not respond properly. Do not play with the life of people.

"Many houses have collapsed due to the incessant rains which the district did not see in its history. Crop of farmers is completely destroyed. When Kumaraswamy was the chief minister (CM), he had provided Rs 10 lac to the people of Kodagu to build houses. Do not wash off your hands by giving pittance relief to more than 25 crore farmers.

"It is decided that JD(S) will contest in every gram panchayat of the district. Already 50 candidates are also chosen. JD(S) is known for rural development. All the workers of the party are committed to build the party from grassroot level. Tall leaders of all communities in the district are about to join JD(S). We are hopeful that Kumaraswamy will become the CM once again,” he said.

Yogish Shetty also celebrated his birthday with the party workers at the same time. Vasudeva Rao, executive president, Shekhar Kotian, Gangadhar, Uday Hegde, Sudhakar Shetty, Abdul Khader and Jayaram Acharya were present.
