Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School staff goes on ‘Fit India Freedom Run’

Mangaluru, Sep 26: 'Any place, any space, but run' keeping this mantra in mind for the Fit India freedom run, Mount Carmel Central School, here, organized a run on September 26 as per the guidelines of CBSE.

The objective of conducting Fit India Freedom Run is to be free of obesity, stress, laziness, anxiety which has become an integral part of one’s life during this ongoing pandemic of COVID-19.

It was a pleasant sight to see the management and staff gathering at 8 am on the school grounds, all dressed up in their running attire. The day commenced invoking God’s blessings for the day and thanking God for the good health and well being.



The principal, Sr Melissa welcomed the staff. Administrator, Sr Carissima appreciated the enthusiastic teachers and highlighted the need of physical exercises which leads to fitness. This was followed by a warm-up session conducted by PET Melwyn. The run kickstarted with a flag off by Sr Melissa. It was a crowd of eighty comprising of the bold, beautiful and old, covering a distance of 1.8 km around the vicinity of Maryhill where the school is located, indeed an enthusiastic healthy run. 

This run surely proved fitness to see the staffs’ zeal and enthusiasm doing a Zumba workout. Seeing this, one could loudly say our prime minister’s quote 'If the body is fit, mind is a hit'. The 'Fit India Freedom Run' concluded with refreshments as healthy people, the healthy family leads to a healthy society.
