Udupi: Theerthalli bridge collapses, commuters advised to take alternative route

Udupi, Sep 24: The road connecting Udupi - Shivamogga has been disrupted due to the breakdown of a bridge Ranjadakatte near Theerthalli.

The continued rains led the bridge collapse and severely disrupted the traffic movement. Ranjadakatte bridge near Theerthalli is a very important connecting point. The bridge is daily used by a lot of travellers to travel to Davangere, Shivamogga and Chithradurga.

Even patients, ambulances ply on this road to reach Manipal and Udupi hospitals.

The collapsing bridge has now forced commuters to use alternative routes. Commuters can travel via Udupi-Agumbe-Sagara-Kalmane-Unturakatte-Kaimara-Bilukoppa-Sathgodu-Mukthihariharapura-Bobbi route to connect with Theerthalli.

Other alternative routes: Agumbe-Kammaradi-Ramakrishnapura-Devangi-Theerthalli or Agumbe-Koppa-Shivamogga

Another option is Udupi-Hulikal ghat-Masthikatte-Yaduru-Kavaledurga-Kondluru-Theerthalli
