Intercity buses in Sharjah to resume from September 15 at 50% capacity

Sharjah, Sep 13: On Sunday announcement was made that Sharjah will resume its intercity bus service at 50 per cent capacity from September 15. Jubail Bus Station will be reopened on the same day.

As a measure against coronavirus Jubail bus station had been shut and intercity bus service suspended in April.

The Sharjah emergency, crisis and disaster management authority announced that bus service will be resumed under strict health and safety measures to keep passengers safe.

Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, director-general of Central Operations, Sharjah Police, said commuters will undergo a thermal body scan before boarding the bus. All buses will be sterilised after each trip and will have stickers to ensure social distancing. Wearing masks during the travel is compulsory and hand sanitisers will be made available on buses.
