Mangaluru: MRPL wins silver medal in India Green Manufacturing Challenge-2019

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 3: MRPL has once again bagged a silver medal in recognition of its green initiatives in the coveted Indian Green Manufacturing Challenge-2019. This contest is held among the top-notch manufacturing industries. It is to be noted that MRPL had won this award in 2017 also.

Indian Green Manufacturing Challenge (IGMC) is an awarding platform that is designed to recognize manufacturing firms that have shown consistent progress in improving sustainability factors associated with a manufacturing facility. IGMC was conducted by the International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM) in India for bringing about excellence in the manufacturing industry while motivating industry leaders towards a greener India. IRIM, as an unbiased third party that evaluated and rated each company on its unique Green manufacturing barometer. This rating was achieved through a structured assessment of the manufacturing facility on 15 indicators of IRIM’s Green Manufacturing framework.

The award ceremony was originally planned at the ITC Maratha, Mumbai April 25, 2020. However, due to the global pandemic caused by the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent nationwide lockdown the ceremony was deferred. This year’s awards program will be telecasted on ET Now channel during the second week of September.
