Mangaluru: Traffic on Charmadi Ghat banned after incessant heavy rain

Mangaluru, Aug 8: Heavy rain has been pounding the state causing natural disasters in some places.

In the circumstances traffic of all types is banned on NH 234 Charmadi Ghat from Sunday every day between 7 pm and 7 am until further orders.

Further, deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V has released orders banning all vehicles from 76 kilometres to 86.20 kilometres on NH 73 coming under Dakshina Kannada district limits till midnight 12 am on August 11. Alternative routes are made available for travel.

One can proceed on alternative road that is from Ujire - Dharmastala – Kokkada – Gundya – Shiradi (NH75) and Moodigere Hand post – Jannapura – Anekal – Shiradi – Gundya (NH75).
