Udupi, Aug 6: “The centuries-old wish of crores of Indians and Ram devotees of the construction of Ram Mandir has become a reality. August 5 is also the day when the Government of India had revoked special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under article 370. May the country be Ram Rajya by the construction of Sri Ram Mandir,” said BJP district president Kuyilady Suresh Nayak.

He was speaking after presiding over the inauguration of an online Rangoli competition held at the BJP district office on August 5.

Veteran activist Kogganna Sanil who was the Kar Sevek in Ayodhya in 1992 lit the traditional lamp. MLA K Raghupathi Bhat said that the day is sacred as it removed the five-century old stigma.

Coastal development authority president Mattaru Ratnaker Hegde and local BJP leaders were present.

Member of the municipal council Girish M Anchan welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Manjunath Manipal rendered the vote of thanks.
