Concerned over ban on Chinese apps, Xi govt reaches out to India

New Delhi, Jun 30 (IANS): China on Tuesday reached out to India, expressing anxiety about the ban imposed by the Indian government on popular Chinese mobile applications like TikTok and WeChat, among others.

During a daily news briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told reporters in Beijing, "China is strongly concerned about the relevant notice issued by the Indian side. We are checking on and verifying the situation."

"We want to stress that the Chinese government always asks the Chinese businesses to abide by international and local laws and regulations," Zhao said, adding that India also has a responsibility to uphold the rights of Chinese businesses.

"The practical cooperation between China and India is actually mutually beneficial and win-win," he said.

In a diplomatic reaction to the Chinese aggression along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, where 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese troops were killed two weeks ago, India on Monday banned over 50 Chinese mobile applications.

The government in its statement said that the 59 applications were prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order. "This move will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users," the Indian IT ministry statement said.

Since the violent face-off and aggressive posturing of Beijing, there has been a vocal sentiment against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime in India.

    Hat,

There is a equivalent US Missile Defense system called CARD, which is equal or better than S-400.
Now US is willing to sell it to India.
If Russia delays S-400 , perhaps we should buy this.

Problem with US high tech weapons is US is very selective in supplying weapons to non-NATO nations...and they are subject to US Congress oversight...I believe NOW US is treating India equal as NATO allies...

US took money from Pakistan and delayed supply of F-16 fighters in 90s due to Pressler amendment !!!...Finally Pakis got them because of US invasion of Afghanistan...

    ...Tak...Takk...

As per Dr Subramanian Swamy, software and electronics deployed in Russian S 400 which India is going to acquire soon is developed by China, he's cautioned the government about it, but our defense minister is already in Russia to expedite the delivery. Btw, China is having S400s since 2014.

Henry, appreciate. But hit them on their products by not buying and not by mocking. Since you're so far away in Bahrain, its easier since many Chinese items are imported there. Start boycott of their products by buying Indian or Taiwan or Korean products

Why can't now 56" strong man can utilize this opportunity to drive out chines from the recent occupation & the donated land by anti nationals by using his muscle power and show his brilliance to the world ?
