Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 22: Dakshina Kannada on Monday June 22, reported 12 new cases. As many as 14 cases were detected in Udupi.

Among the 12 corona-positive patients, there are 10 males and two females. Six among them have travelled from Kuwait and two from Qatar, one each from Muscat, Saudi Arabia and Sharjah, and one patient with influenza-like illness symptoms has tested positive.

With this, in Dakshina Kannada, 445 people have tested positive, including 10 persons from other districts. Out of these, 187 are currently active. As many as 250 persons have recovered and been discharged including 12 on Monday, and eight deaths have occurred so far.

As many as 14 people including three children tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district on Monday. Among the 14 patients, seven each are male and female. Eight are Maharashtra returnees, four have contracted infection from P-6843, and the source of infection of two more patients is being traced.

As many as 1,077 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, out of which 967 patients have been discharged so far with two on Monday. A total of 108 cases are currently active. Two deaths have occurred so far.
