13 including 11 overseas returnees test corona-positive in DK, eleven cases in Udupi on Jun 19

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 19: Dakshina Kannada on Friday June 19, reported 13 new cases. Eleven fresh cases were detected in Udupi.

Among the 13 corona-positive patients, there are seven males and six females. Four among the positive tested patients are Saudi returnees, seven have come from Sharjah while the other two are suffering from Influenza like illness (ILI).

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada district so far has reached 422 (including 10 cases from other districts), among which 208 are currently active. As many as 206 patients including 30 on Friday who recovered have been discharged from hospital. Eight deaths have occurred in the district.

As many as 11 people including three children tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district on Friday. Among the 11 patients, six are male and five female. Four are Maharashtra returnees, two have travelled from Tamil Nadu and five patients have contracted infection from other positive patients. Three patients contracted infection from P-7024, while two patients contracted infection from P-7291.

The total number of cases in Udupi is 1,050 with only 98 cases being currently active. As many as 950 patients including four on Friday who recovered have been discharged from hospital. Two deaths have occurred in the district including one on Friday.
