Udupi: ‘Corona treatment free of cost, govt has not paid money to any hospital’ – DC G Jagadeesha

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, Jun 10: Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha said that no hospital in the district has charged money for COVID treatment and no money had come from the government as well. What is being spread in social media is false and unfounded allegations and action would be taken against those responsible for spreading such false news as per Epidemic Act.

Speaking at a press conference at zilla panchayat auditorium on Wednesday, June 10, the commissioner stressed on the responsibilities of the neighbours of those quarantined and infected to keep a check to stop the spread of the deadly virus. The gram panchayat and EO are assigned to monitor the home quarantined and keep a constant watch.

“To keep a track of the situation, a team of three would visit the houses in villages and submit the report. Flying squads formed would ensure that the quarantined do not step out of their homes. Violation of rules would lead to institutional quarantine and filing of an FIR.

“For those showing COVID like symptoms such as difficulty in breathing are immediately isolated and taken to hospital. Ward committees are formed to track people arriving from outside the state. Any violation of the rules including seal down found can be reported calling 100.

“Several people have arrived by train from Mumbai without Seva Sindhu app and medical tests. Passes can be obtained outside the state at six centres from June 10.

"Children in containment zones need not appear for the examinations. Children coming from other states would be medically examined within next 5 to 10 days. Those above 60 years of age also will be examined,” he said.

Speaking on public transport, the commissioner said that he would have a meeting with the RTO officials regarding violation of safety norms by buses. However, he said that he was unaware of 15 percent increase in bus fare.

DSP Vishnuvardhana and additional deputy commissioner Sadashiv Prabhu were also present.

This is the problem of giving free treatment. The providers only get brickbats and not bouquets. We are fortunate to have advanced facilities of Manipal hospitals in our midst and it is benevolent of them to provide free treatment to the people of the district without tom toming in the media for publicity.
I challenge the Mumbai returnees to avail such free treatment even in the current crisis situation in any of the Mumbai private hospitals.
Kudos are also due to the Government machinery in Karnataka and specifically to our DC for managing the situation in Karnataka well whereas the Maharastra government has failed miserably. Karnataka has 6000 odd cases and Maharashtra has 80,000 odd cases. Bengaluru and Mumbai has similar levels of population density and overcrowding, but the difference in Bengaluru and Mumbai numbers are there for everyone to see.
The returnees could do well to show some gratitude instead of spreading allegations and accusations

Don't make it up your own stories...talk to those individuals who are/were in the Covid Cages! You will come to know the reality.

So far there is no medication for this virus, but district says.."so many are cured" ...how do they got cured without any medication? Any explanation?
Look at the quarantined center, how the rain water flooded in the school grounds? Feel sorry to see them over there!

Hospitals are not 5 star resorts. You will be provided basic clean facilities with food and necessary medications and that too for free. If the patient wanted 5 star stay with free movement as he/she pleases, they should have stayed back in Mumbai and gone to Sion/KEM or private hospitals like Reliance/Leelavathi etc. Why come here, get treated for free and still grumble.
If you care to read up free literature available in the world wide web, you will come to know what is "cure" in any viral illness and for what medications are given. World over, people are getting cured without any specific anticorona virus medication and Udupi district is no different. When the swab test comes negative, the patient is deemed cured. The medications received are supportive, based on the symptoms the patient's have.
If you name the school where the playground is flooded, maybe daiji and other media could investigate and refer the matter to administration or you yourself could complain to the administration. And are the people quarantined in the playground or inside the school?

Do not make it business. Those not healthy will go to hospital others may not like it because those tested positive in the morning turn negative in the evening. Height of stupidity.

Threat!...Threat!...Threat!!! Doesn't make any sense at all.

We need to discuss with Quarantined people to clarify this matter. Somebody might have expressed or raised their concerns, quickly Udupi district revert back to Green Zone! Zero result!
    Haha.... something fishy
