Ballari, Jun 7: Education minister Suresh Kumar has informed that the results of this year's SSLC examinations will be declared by end of July. The exams which were postponed due to coronavirus outbreak will now be held from June 25 with strict precautionary measures.

"SSLC examinations are going to be held from June 25 to July 4 and the results will be declared in July end or in the first week of August. Supplementary exams will take place within three weeks of the announcement of results. Those who could not write the annual examinations due to ill health can take that exam," said the minister.

Suresh Kumar further said, "The first priority of the government is to ensure the safety of the students who arrive at the examination centers to write the examination, and to help them take the examination with confidence. Social distancing is mandatory while writing the examination. Three-and-half-feet distance will be maintained between the students and benches. Earlier 24 students used to sit in one classroom, now it is reduced to 18. Face mask is mandatory for both teachers and students.

"This year 8,48,203 students are going to write the SSLC examination. Every student arriving at the examination center will be subjected to thermal screening. If any student is found to have fever, he or she will be made to write the examination in a separate room.

"In order to instill confidence in students, online classes have been held on DD Chandana channel in Kannada and English for all the subjects. In addition, online revision classes will also be held from June 10 to 20.

"Due to lockdown students staying in hostels have gone to their respective homes in their native places. Moreover, hostels are converted into quarantine centers. Migrant students have also gone to their native places. Arrangements are done for such students to write examinations in schools in their native places," he said.

It seems our Education Minister is welcoming Corona virus with a grand welcome by conducting SSLC exams. Otherwise pressure from pvt PU college managements for donations and fees. Otherwise what is the urgency to put the students in risk by conducting exams in such hurry. ???
