Udupi, Jun 6: Two senior citizens, having quarantine seal on their hands, who were creating panic in public places of the city by roaming around, were taken into custody by the activists of Udupi district Nagarika Seva Samiti and admitted to quarantine centre at Adiudupi here on Saturday June 6.

It is known that one of the two is a senior seer of a Kerala Math. He had come to Udupi via Mangaluru from Kerala. There is a quarantine seal on his hand.

Another person is a lady of Shivamogga origin, who had come to Mangaluru from Varanasi via train and had come to the city from Mangaluru in order to proceed to her native place of Shivamogga. She also carries a quarantine seal on her hand.

Both had come to the city from outstation districts. Public noticed them when they were roaming around in service bus stand and informed the police. Nityananda Olakadu helped the police in the operation of sending these senior citizens to quarantine center. Udupi district Nagarika Seva Samiti offered free ambulance to take them to the quarantine center.

Social activist Tharanath Mesta Shiroor, who was involved in the operation said, "Udupi district was free from coronavirus and was in the green zone earlier. Now the pandemic has hit the district like tsunami. People of the district are living under panic. Under these circumstances, if people with quarantine seals roam around in public places it will spread more panic. Bus conductors should check without fail the hands of passengers in the bus to verify whether they carry a quarantine seal."

Strange...People who are having mark in there hand are become big culprits.
It's foreseen only in coastal districts. People here taking decision by themselves. Respect elderly people they might came from anywhere wants to go to some any other place.. are not all positive. Keep some sense. Now onwards we wants to live under same circumstances. Make them way to reach there destination either to Kerala or Shivmogga. Already they are tired from travelling and lot of standing to fulfill procedures.
