Ensure no barriers faced by pregnant women: Delhi directs DMs


New Delhi, May 29 (IANS) :The Delhi government on Friday directed the district administrations here to ensure that pregnant women and their families residing in Covid-19 hot spots do not face any barrier during the lockdown.

In the order, Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev, said that the helpline 1077 currently being used for senior citizens will also be functional for pregnant women.

"All district magistrates and their counterpart district deputy commissioners of police shall ensure that no barriers are faced by pregnant ladies and their family members residing in hotspots during the lockdown," it said.

The order also directed for ensuring efficient round-the-clock functioning of the helpline.

The lockdown is till May 31 and while relaxations were given across the city in the lockdown rules, the movement of people in the hot spots is restricted.
