Vande Bharat Mission - No return flights for Gulf Kannadigas in third phase

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 27: After easing the lockdown rules, the central government has decided to bring NRI Indians stranded in other countries to their homeland in the third phase of 'Vande Bharat Mission'. Gulf Kannadigas who have been waiting for an opportunity to come back for various reasons are worried as there are no listed flights to bring Kannadigas back to their state in the third phase.

The third phase list in which flights are being operated from May 26 to June 4, has flights from Gulf countries like Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Muscat to different Indian states. But none of these flights have Mangaluru or Bengaluru as their destinations. There are a number of flights to Kannur.

Taking into account the plight of Kannadigas stuck in the Gulf region, office bearers of certain Kannada organizations in those countries have got in touch with union ministers D V Sadananda Gowda and Suresh Angadi, who represent Karnataka, and requested them to mitigate the hardships of these people. Both the ministers have written to the civil aviation minister, urging him to facilitate the return of Kannadigas in the Gulf at the earliest.

    To the Karnataka Govt.

We lost our job in the month of March and till now we are surviving just by having 1 time meal per day.

Please arrange the flight to Bangalore as we are unable to survive without food.

    Thanks

Very sad to hear that there is no flight to Manglore till now. Since 3 months people are waiting for the flight. What's wrong with govt.i request Aviation minister to start commercial flights as usual before. So that we can travel soon. I am jobless since 3 months and also iam sick. Just waiting for the flight.
I request our Karnataka Kuwait association to do the needful at the earliest. My reg .no is 836.

Such a shame on our MP's. No one was bothered to fight to allocate flights for Karnataka.
Is it that they do not want Kannadigas to return home. So many pregnant women, aged people, and jobless people are stuck in Gulf region especially in Dubai, waiting for the flight schedule but there is no sign of flights being assigned for our people.
Wake up, ministers!!! It is time to bring back your own people. They are not asking you for free tickets, or share in your property. All they ask is a paid trip for them to reach to their home in this time of distress.

When i see the plight of the people of coastal karnataka whether back home or abroad its sad to say the least gone are the days where the region contributed to banking , education etc, and if can point out it was only on leader U.S Mallya who brought development to the area by the way of airport and the new mangalore port, now we see a steady decline in the region with religious and communal lines with politics of hate and fear which has seen insecurity in the region while the human resources move out and natural resources plundered , i can only see the region being used to gather votes and nothing else , while the region sees further decline..

You are right @Chandra, Kannadigas are not allowed to take flight to Kannur. Because you guys have allergy towards mallus right, the way they speak, the way their KL plate cars roam around mangalore, the way they take away all your jobs supposedly😂. Hehe...btw, I am just kidding, you can definitely take flights to Kannur and while applying for pass in SevaSindu just select the option that says “Kannadigas arrived at airports outside Karnataka”. Have a good day :)

Reason behind is we have good for nothing MPs. from our twin districts & state

They are busy in publishing doctrine videos.
They are busy in criminalising human society to wild society.

    NDA is ruling central.
    BJP is ruling in Karnataka.
24 MPS are from BJP still our MPs are unable because they are not interested in common man.

    Anil,

Please don't take it personally. We can fight with Corona only with restricted movement. If people start moving from one place to other freely, what is the use of lock down.

Don't compare wealthy NRIs like you with poor migrant workers. NRIs have capacity to stay for some time at gulf and help Govt in fight with Covid.

Raju Karkala, we have sympathy towards migrant workers. NO doubt at all. But for your knowledge and to widen your way of thinking, all NRIs are not rich enough to feed them self without job, without salary. Especially construction workers, who have paid lakhs of rupees to agent to get gulf job to have better life for the defendants. Thinking money grow in plants. Reality only comes to know after reaching gulf. Labor camps are just to take shelter at night. Condition of Construction worker at gulf is same case like migrant workers. Only difference is here they get salary monthly basis, whereas migrant workers majority are getting in daily basis. As the pandemic crises, all construction works are stopped, and worker are on “no work, no payment basis” . In such circumstances, how they can stay and have their meal? Yes NRIs travel by AIR, because, there are only two main option, by sea or by Air. Sea travel no body prepare as travel duration is too long, no direct link to hometown ete. There are people who need medical treatment, pregnant, with expired visa ete. Therefore, do not judge sitting in Karkala and issue verdict.

You are not aware of Gulf like i think, or you are filled with Gulf money now don't want to take your own people back. What type of human being you are?. People are suffering here like anything, come on wake up man, don't be so rude. Time comes to everybody today or tomorrow. People at gulf are crying that they don't even have money to eat. They don't have job. They were not paid for many months. They don't even have a basic medical insurance. And you are telling that he is jealous.

He must be living like king in his mother country, looking after his parents. Here he would have lived like slave.

    Dear Mr. Rau,
Looks like you hate NRI's . You would have realized the situation only if you had a member from your family or a relative working in GULF. India is belongs to all the people who are born in India and not for one person. Unfortunately everyone will fight for their rights as it is their own country. Please be sensible while writing negative comments about NRIs returning back and don't be jealous either. You have every right to go outside Karkala and work and live. Its your wish. Similarly its citizen of India who wish to travel and they have equal right as you have.
