Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 25: The flights from Mangaluru International Airport scheduled to depart for Mumbai and Chennai on Monday May 25 have been cancelled.

The cancellations were made reportedly because of non-availability of enough passengers and technical reasons.

Out of six flights scheduled today, four have been cancelled. Therefore, only two flights will be operated from here today, the first day of resumption of flights after lockdown.

Flights SG353 and 6E5328 to Mumbai have been cancelled, and so also flight 6E7139 to Chennai and flight SG1027 to Bengaluru. All these flights were supposed to depart on Monday morning.

As a result, only two flights will be operated from the airport on Monday, and both to Bengaluru later in the night.

There will not be any flights to Bengaluru during the daytime today. The flight to Bengaluru being operated by IndiGo airlines will depart at 7.35 pm. The other flight by Spicejet will leave for Bengaluru at 9.50 pm.

Monday was the first day of the resumption of domestic flights across the country after two months of lockdown over coronavirus outbreak. Strict guidelines have been issued for travellers with regard to social distancing and use of masks. There is restriction on number of passengers per flight too.

Show us at least one single leader or minister in our central government today at Delhi who has wisdom to plan and act accordingly. So the whole nation is suffering due to the inability and there is no lack of clarity on anything which they plan for the public good or welfare? Only they make big "News Head Lines" every now and then with their fake degrees!

Its not technical problem, because of no passengers to Mumbai they compelled to cancel the schedules. Its very true that no gulf passenger then all flights will be empty. So respect the rights of Gulf people and run the airport else nearby Malabar airports will accompany all your passengers. It may create people jobless also who are connected with Mangalore airport.

Technical reson flights cancelled? Poor planning from central government. As the flights were grounded from long time central government should have been given 15 days notice to state governments.

The cancellation of flights to Mumbai and Chennai from Mangalore was bound to happen as planning was bad. They could have waited for at least one more week when everything was set up right.

Nobody is prepared to go to Mumbai. All are scared. This flight service started in India only to those top politicians and no Corentine for them I think. Now International flights will start soon for those who are eagerly waiting to foreign countries and made a habit of roaming without any job.
