Mangaluru: 39 First Neuro Hospital staff test coronavirus negative, discharged

Mangaluru, May 12: 39 First Neuro Hospital employees who were examined for the presence of coronavirus infection have tested negative. A large number of people from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Madikeri, Uttara Kannada etc who were tested positive earlier presumably had First Neuro Hospital connection.

It may be recalled that after an old woman who was treated at this hospital was confirmed of this infection, the hospital was sealed down. People who were treated there and also those who had come in contact with the patient were quarantined.

These staff were quarantined in a private hospital in the city. On Monday, their test reports were received. All of them were discharged from the hospital.

Over a thousand throat swab samples have so far been tested in connection with Bantwal, First Neuro and Boloor cases which have together accounted for a number of patients. Out of them, 17 have tested coronavirus positive.
