Kundapur, Apr 5: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Sunday April 5 distributed Prasadam of Sri Krishna Math on Sunday, April 5 to labourers of North Karnataka and North India, who are virtually stranded here due to coronavirus pandemic. The distribution was done at Kalavara Varadaraja Shetty First Grade College.

Addressing the gathering, Shobha Karandlaje said, "We are with the labourers who have come from other districts as well as other states of our country and have contributed to the development of our district. I am distributing food kits from my personal expense for those who do not have ration card. Food is being supplied by the panchayat for the 117 families put up in Kalavara Varadaraja Shetty College. Food kits are not distributed here. But food kits are being distributed in Kundapur, Barkur and Sastana.

"The motive behind the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to light diyas at 9 pm on Sunday, April 5 for nine minutes is to show unity of the nation in our fight against coronavirus. Those who criticize everything will continue to do so. Why are such people are not talking abut the Tablighi Markaz convention? We all are with PM Modi," she said.

Shantha Gopalakrishna, president of Koteshwara gram panchayat, Udaya Naik, vice-president, Shankar Ankadakatte, president of Kundapur constituency BJP committee, Kadur Suresh Shetty, former president and Sandhya Pai, BJP district leader were present.

We talk about lockdown and see the elected representative is without mask. How these people can be roll models and teach the common man ? Uneducated laborer is far better and understands once explained to him the reason for wearing mask.

    What FARCE is this ?

Projecting to the whole world about the BIGGEST lockdown and doing this?

Does she understand the meaning of "LOCKDOWN" or does the meaning in Kannada mean something else?

How many people has she put at risk ?

Last but not the least... the BIG QUESTION...

If we went and got PALMS this Sunday, would it have been treated as same?

This was the best opportunity to demonstrate social distancing. The honorable MP, alumni of Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore threw caution to air. I doubt if her mentor who stared at more than 70 candles for his last birthday will have the courage to meet her even from 1 meter distance.

Yes, taking care of migrant workers (the backbone of the economy) is important and there is no denying that. But, leaders should lead with example.

This woman has to be taught social distancing first off all. Secondly she is ridiculing hungry and unemployed migrants by distributing prasadams to them. What they need is some cash and food.

This lady should be booked for not using a mask and not adhering to rules like social distancing, what happened to laxman rekha both have ran away from Kundapur. Instead of distributing prasadam could have distributed some masks to the people of her constituency. When we ask a politician about their profession they mention as social worker. What social work his this lady doing?
